Hi, please don't call me "Tiffy" anymore 🙂 I'll Hi, please don't call me "Tiffy" anymore 🙂 I'll explain why ⬇️ So most ppl here know me as Tiffany or Tiff. The names I go by. But a lot of ppl still know me as "Tiffy" - that's the nickname I had since I could think, up until like 6,7 years ago. Let me explain why I now hate this name and ask everyone to please not call me that anymore. "Tiffy" is the little girl you see in picture 2. And the teenager in picture 3. She is a dreamer, very sensitive, goofy, active, hopeful, loud, naive. She is also very sad a lot of the times because ppl tell her she's not pretty because she's black. They tell her to stay out of the sun so she won't get too dark. They tell her she shouldn't take these things too seriously and just smile. They tell her she's pretty for a black girl. They call her the N-word. They beat her up. They touch her hair without asking. They draw her with purple sunburn. "Tiffy" feels helpless, she feels heartbroken, at times invisible, like an alien, the odd one out. She's popular, she has a lot of friends. But still she finds herself constantly in survival mode, crying herself to sleep. She wants to be white. She hates her beautiful curly hair. She sometimes doesn't know how much more she can take of this, is she supposed to live through this forever? She feels unseen, unheard, misunderstood. And even though I, Tiffany, still feel some of these feelings at times, I am no longer "Tiffy". I am strong, I stand up for myself, I don't tolerate disrespect and ignorance from ppl in my life anymore. I love my curls, I tan as much as I possibly can. I don't just ignore and survive anymore.
